60 miles in 3 days???

So when I first thought about doing this journey...I din't think I had it in me.

I mean, my heart was there! No doubt in that...but I mean, really.
60 miles.
In.3.Days????
It just seemed next to impossible.

Welcome to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure:

But...
I couldn't get it off my mind. It woke me at night. It sat with me during the day.
I kid you not, when I would truly stop at certain moments...and think to myself....
"WHO AM I KIDDING....I am overweight and out of shape...and don't even get me started on the fund-raising...I don't think I can do this...."
A commercial would come on the radio and remind me...
That it is a choice.
That I CAN DO THIS!

I can help make a change.

It consumed me.
I obsessed in my self-doubt. That is what I do.
I second guess myself, and live in my shell of questioning.
Only to let time pass.
Then I regret.

At some point I needed to break free of my comfort zone.
I needed to become a part of something SO much bigger than myself.

My friend Cindy decided to sign up for this journey.
She inspired me.
She made me want to be better.

So here I am.
On January 31st, I signed up....and now...I want to do better...to be better!
My friend Erin just signed up as well.
It will be an amazing, life-changing journey.

Now on to FUNDRAISING!!!!
Please help me on this journey...
I will blog about it here and over at my 3-Day website.
Please visit me at ... www.the3day.org/goto/bizibean

I so look forward to this amazing experience...
The digging deep to change the introverted person I have become...
And seeing who evolves!

Inspired...

I "stole" this from my friend Lisa's blog.
It hit me in a profound way. In one of those moments of...well...pure naked truth.
We live...as human nature has dictated...to always want.

We desire more money, in order to get more possesions. A larger house, another car, more clothes. It is what we have learned to be...bigger...better...the American Dream.

I seriously find myself falling into that trap far more then I would like. Making a "TO-DO" list, or a "TO-GET" list, that gets longer far before it gets shorter.

Why?

I long for that not to be the case.

I remember a day, not so very long ago...when I was still dreaming of meeting a boy that I would fall in love with. Wondering what my wedding would be like. Imagining the beauty that would be in my life because of my kids. Longing to have my own apartment...and then when I did...longing to own a home.
There is always something. Sometimes, it seems that the "American Dream"...is never ending...that it is never truly reachable, because there is always more to want. I suppose that is different for everyone...but that is how it seems at times.
There was a day, not so very long ago...
when all I did was hope for a life JUST like the one that I have.

So...here we are...in November...

It is a Thankful...Grateful...month...

And I am.

Very Thankful...Very Grateful...
I am OVERFLOWING with gratitude!
I love my life...I love my family...I love our home...
**************
So now...at this minute...I am thankful for what I have...not what I have not.

Long time coming...

Yeah...I guess I took a little break. Not so much intentionally, but more to the effect that it is SO hot...and MUGGY at night, that I just didn't want to sit here...I have just kind of been in a "funk", and couldn't get motivated.

But I have been here in spirit. No, really, I have.
I will be posting all that we have been doing since our trip to the Ocean. I am not going to post date them however, because then no one reads them because no one knows they are there. So I will just post-date, in the actual post itself.

I have been playing with my blog...with the main effort to be able to make my pictures larger on the screen, and I was SO tired of having the three column layout...with so much wasted space.

Finally figured the layout part out...so we will see from here if it is too boring for me, and I try to change it up again. I hate the header(WHY DOES BLOGGER NOT LET YOU CENTER????)...I don't know how to fix it...besides adding a picture that takes up the whole screen...any help would be much appreciated!

Anyway,
Sorry for the break and I will move on to what we have done for our early summer...
LOOK AT THE POST BELOW....SEE HOW BIG AND PERFECT THE PICTURE IS....LOVE IT!!!! (thanks to the best Smylie ever!!!!)

Inaguration Day 2009

Today, I was unable to stop watching history in the making. When I did finally stop watching...I couldn't stop thinking about how far our nation has come. How much we, as a people, have finally grown! I am so happy that my children are being brought up in a country that has passed "that" point...a country, where the majority finally looked beyond race, and decided based on other factors!

When my son looked at me and asked why I was so involved, I explained that this was our new president, and told him that he is the first African American president ever...and he said...
"so, what's the big deal?"
I am so happy he sees it like that, and wish that for everyone! I hope it is never a "big deal" agian...

This is certainly NOT to say that I do now, nor will ever agree with everything that President Obama intends to do, or might do, while in office. But, as an American, I am proud to stand, and support.
I believe that None of this has ANYTHING to do with party lines....not caring whether you are Conservative, Liberal or Independant,
This was a monumental day in America! A day of exceptance...of new beginnings...of hope.
